Some of our favorite squishes happen here, and, despite hailing from the hometown of Mr Howie Steltzer, cassette tape manipulator extrordinaire, Foam thoroughly owns these sides and the riches of a man who loves a thick, roiling, organicity in his sound is put forth with a light touch. Beautiful tape, too!
Favorite track: Side B - NO TAPE.
The title of this cassette is great, thought provoking and blackly comic bit of alliteration right there. The tracks themselves are no less intriguing either. My personal impression of these four string based improvised (I'm assuming) pieces is that of living sound that somehow escaped the confines of their respective instruments, instinctively and warily calling to someone recording their own noisy and fully independent emanations. Pretty awesome, if you ask me. Ben Harris
Varied sonic collages, colorful as the eye-grabbing album art, twist and turn throughout Rossetto's "Fashion Tape." It's a delightful release that combines the artist's intimate drones with an almost playful plundering of samples and sounds. jckmd
